Barron is a local musician who is slowly making his popular in the Pittsburgh community. Enrolled in Point Park University, Chase has made quite the name for himself in the music scene.

Currently, Chase plays in three different bands as a lead guitarist and a back-up vocalist. He says he likes to “band hop” from one group to another, filling in space as needed. Presently, Mr. Barron is focused on finding his own sound, and is pushing his own music in a further solo, acoustic way.

Chase Barron started to become interested in music when he was just five years old. His parents, Rich and Michelle Baron, gave chase a toy keyboard for Christmas, and ever since then nobody could hide the musical talents stored in the little five-year-old’s body. From then on, Chase realized that his best medium of expression was through sound.

As he grew older, Chase learned to play six different instruments, mastering each one of them. “The girls really like musician”, Chase adds. When asked about the first time picking up the guitar, Chase said he started taking it more seriously around fifth-grade.

“The reason I grabbed one though before playing the real thing. I was a huge music nerd and a bit of a gamer”, Chase said. Approaching his late elementary years, the worldwide known video game “guitar hero” was released. “I played that game like it was my job”, Chase said. “I was ranked in the top twenty five (reaching 16th at one point) club on the world leader boards for far too long, and when my life started to deteriorate around the fake colored instrument, I decided to try out the real thing”, Chase stated.

As for singing, the talented rocker learn vocals hand-in-hand with guitar. “Everyone thought it was pretty lame sitting around the campfire when you try to play a song with no vocal accompaniment”, Barron said. “Theres something about playing guitar that just forces words out. At least for me.”

Over the next couple years, Chase would like to record another couple albums and play well-known shows. “Making it big would be great, but I’d still have fun just playing in bars and with friends and such”, Barron stated.

Like other rockers, Chase has goals. Unlike most rockers, Chase’s goals are a little different. “My ultimate goal is to become a traveling cinematographer for a travel channel style gig and sell music in all the different countries of the world on the side. That’ll be swell. Hopefully the Cinema productions program works out for me here”, Barron said. When asked about collaborations Chase perked right up. “Collaborations? Hell, I’d love to jam with the old 1960’s jam band called “traffic”. Those dudes where are my style. I’d also settle for a night with kid Cudi.” Overall,

Chase Baron is a very humble person. On top of being musically talented, Chase also has cinematography skills under his belt. Rocking out may seem fun, but Chase shows us that school always comes first. The community is very excited to see a local musician succeed. It just goes to show that Pittsburgh is in fact a great place to start.
